McWane Sciene Center
The McWane center provides educational entertainment for the whole family. Boasting an aqaurium, IMAX 3-D theatre, constantly changing exhibits and much more. If you have children this is a must visit place. Located downtown in the heart of the city on 2nd Avenue North.

Alabama Adventure
An adventure theme park right in our backyard. Alabama Adventure features the Splash Beach waterpark with many different pools, slides, special areas for younger children,and a wave pool with a white sand beach. When you get dry, visit the theme park side and ride several rollercoasters. This park also offers concerts of national artists throughout the summer season. Located off I-20/59.
Ruffner Mountain
Over 1,000 acres this forested urban nature center sits close to the heart of the city of Birmingham. Ruffner features a certified wildlife habitat, educational programs, weekend activites, and 11 miles of footpaths.
Birmingham Zoo
With around 800 animals and over 200 species the Birmingham Zoo is always a fun place to spend the afternoon with the kids. Looking for something to do in the summertime?
